Tube laminate tends to consist of 5 layers of film, which form the laminate when combined by means of extrusion lamination. The middle film is usually the barrier layer, which prevents particles of the product from escaping from the tube. It also ensures that potentially harmful substances in the environment, which may affect or change the product (e.g., oxygen), do not penetrate the tube.
The inner and outer layers of film ensure sealability, printability and adequate properties for the product contained in the tube.
Pirlo Tubes currently processes laminate with a thickness between 250 and 400 µ.

Additionally, we can also process the 185 µm thick R laminate produced by the Huhtamaki company.

You can order ABL or PBL tubes depending on the requirements of your product.

What follows is a quick description of the different laminate types:

ABL (Aluminium Barrier Laminate)
ABL consists of several PE layers with an aluminium barrier embedded between them. Oxygen permeability and water vapour permeability are virtually non-existent making this laminate a great choice for aggressive or easily damaged substances.

PBL (Plastic Barrier Laminate)

PBL consists of several plastic layers with an EVOH barrier embedded between them to protect the product. EVOH is a safe barrier for many common products related to chemistry, technology and cosmetics as well as food. One important aspect of this aroma barrier is that it also prolongs the shelf life of the product.
